Snorkel corals, kick back in a beach cabana and enjoy rum punch as the sun sets over the Caribbean Sea. Arrive in Cartagena to begin your motor or sailing boat charter in Colombia and its surrounding islands. Explore Cartagena’s Old City and the trendy bohemian neighbourhood of Getsemani alongside a historian. Alternatively, take a cooking class, browse a vibrant market or discover the compelling art scene. Your Captain and crew can also organise rum tastings and shopping trips.
The San Bernardo Islands are 10 small paradise escapes surrounded by crystalline blue water. Truly off the beaten track, this is a place where nature and humans coexist in harmony. Part of the Rosario and San Bernardo corals national natural park, it’s a land of white sands, palm trees, and cabañas. Your superyacht captain will take you to the best hidden spots.
Spend an active day in beautiful Mucura. Enjoy a peaceful breakfast onboard before a morning hike around the entire island. After lunch, jump on the tender for a tour around other islands in the chain including Tintipan and the Islote. This is also a great spot for getting out the motor or sailing boat's toys and diving or snorkelling gear. A specialist local dive guide can be arranged if desired.
Next, sail to the San Blas Islands, starting with the Coco Bandero Cays. These stunning islands are surrounded by a vast reef nestling in gin-clear waters, extending for miles around the cays. Grab a snorkel or a dive set and explore the underwater world, including colourful snappers and groupers. In the evening, enjoy a gourmet dinner onboard your crewed superyacht.
The Holandes Cays is a small archipelago of paradise islands, protected by a barrier reef stretching for 7 miles and ideal to be explored by motor or sailing boat. These islands are the furthest from the Panama mainland, offering excellent fishing and snorkelling in clear waters. The crew will take you to Swimming Pool Anchorage and Isla Benedup, unmissable stops here. Adventurous charterers can head north to find a tunnel that crosses beneath the entire reef.
One of the top snorkelling spots in the archipelago, Isla Perro is the site of a sunken army gunboat in excellent preservation condition, lying only 6 metres beneath the surface. Swim alongside fish of all colours and sizes and large coral fans. By night under a new moon, witness the magical effect of bioluminescence from small squids and plankton onboard your motor or sailing boat.
Named for the turtles that lay their eggs on its shores between May and August, Turtle Island offers fantastic snorkelling among its adjacent colorful corals. The island is inhabited by a single Kuna family. Return onboard your motor or sailing boat for a dinner of fresh lobsters caught that day.
